Medical review policy

Modern Body Doc is written by a non-clinician. Pages that include health information are checked by a licensed US clinician before they are marked "Medically reviewed".

Current status

We are recruiting reviewers. No page on this site has been medically reviewed yet. Until a page shows a named reviewer, treat it as consumer information that hasn't been clinically reviewed.

Which pages are reviewed

Pure cost, insurance and privacy-policy explainers may be published without clinical review. They don't carry a "Medically reviewed" label.

Who reviews

What reviewers check, and what they don't

Reviewers check the accuracy, safety and framing of health statements and that the cited sources support them. They don't choose, rank or endorse the companies we write about, and a "Medically reviewed by" label doesn't mean the reviewer recommends any product or service.

How it appears on a page

Reviewed pages show "Medically reviewed by [name, credential]" with the review date, linking to the reviewer's profile and their public license record. Pages are reviewed again at least every 12 months, or sooner if official guidance changes.
