How Sesame pricing works

Sesame is a marketplace. The doctors and clinicians on it run their own practices and use Sesame's platform to offer visits. Each one sets their own price, so the same type of visit can cost different amounts from different providers. Before you book, Sesame shows each provider's price, reviews and open time slots. You can sort the results by lowest price.

Because Sesame doesn't bill insurance, there are no copays, deductibles or bills sent later for the visit itself. Its telehealth page says pay-per-visit care has "no membership fees, no surprise bills, no insurance needed". You pay when you book.

Sesame quotes slightly different "from" prices in different places. On October 24, 2026, its homepage and urgent care page said visits start at $34. The title of its telehealth visit page said "from $37". The price that counts is the one shown for the provider and time you choose.

What you can book on Sesame

Sesame lists hundreds of services. The main kinds of visit include:

Sesame is clear about what it doesn't do. Its providers can't prescribe controlled substances, such as stimulants, opioids or benzodiazepines. Emergencies like chest pain, trouble breathing or signs of stroke need 911 or an emergency room, not a video visit.

Costs that aren't in the visit price

Sesame Plus: is the membership worth it?

Sesame Plus is an optional membership. On October 24, 2026, it cost $10.99 a month or $99 a year. Sesame says members get:

The maths: on the monthly plan, the $10 discount roughly cancels out the $10.99 fee if you book one visit a month. On the annual plan, $99 is about ten $10 discounts. If you use the free lab, you need fewer visits to break even. Sesame lists an A1c test at $27 and a standard panel at $45. If you only see a doctor once or twice a year, paying per visit is probably cheaper.

Sesame says the membership isn't insurance and can't be combined with insurance or Medicare.

If you have insurance or an HSA

Sesame doesn't work with insurance. Its pitch to insured people is that a cash visit can cost less than paying toward a high deductible. You can pay with HSA, FSA or HRA funds by entering your health account card at checkout. Your visit details include an option to view an insurance/HSA receipt (a "superbill") once the visit summary is complete. Whether your insurer will reimburse any of it depends on your plan, so ask them.

The one exception Sesame mentions: for patients in its online weight loss program, its clinicians can help with insurance prior authorization for medication coverage.

How much is a Sesame visit without insurance?

Sesame doesn't bill insurance, so everyone pays the cash price shown before booking. On October 24, 2026, Sesame said visits start at $34. Providers set their own prices, though, so many visits cost more. For example, Sesame's membership page listed a prescription refill visit at $47 and a video therapy session at $75 for non-members.

Does Sesame take insurance?

No. Sesame says it doesn't accept or bill health insurance, which it says keeps prices low. You can pay with an HSA, FSA or HRA card.

How much is Sesame Plus?

On October 24, 2026, Sesame Plus cost $10.99 a month or $99 a year. It gives you $10 off telehealth and primary care visits, $10 off in-person dentist and specialist visits, and one free lab test a year with an annual membership (not available in Washington State).

Is the medication included in the Sesame visit price?

No. Sesame says medication is charged separately. What you pay depends on your pharmacy and any insurance you have. Sesame also offers a free Rx savings card.

Can Sesame prescribe any medication?

No. Sesame says its providers can't prescribe controlled substances, such as stimulants, opioids or benzodiazepines. It also says that if a provider decides you don't need a prescription, the visit isn't refundable.
